A Possible Story About Voltage Noir(This is all about voltagenoir.org. Head to www.voltagenoir.com for details on Voltage Noir Consulting) Voltage Noir was virtually founded in 1995 by a fictional(?) entity named Elektrosatan. Due to the non-existence of Elektrosatan, Voltage Noir remained in obscurity. For a short time it was represented by a pathetic web page hanging by a thread off of a Slirp redirected port and over a 2400 baud dial up connection at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Later, it hopped around, from free page host to small ISP, etc, etc, but always, Voltage Noir remained both unmaintained and unknown. In May of THE YEAR 2000, after leaving his subterranean Y2K survival fortress, Elektrosatan bothered to register "voltagenoir.org". Shortly thereafter, a humanoid by the name of "paul" (oh, that's me!) persuaded Elektrosatan to give him multiple email accounts @voltagenoir.org. (Blackmail and/or threats may/may not have been included in said "persuasion".) Unfortunately for the world, Voltage Noir "the original web site" had long been lost. Not even the WayBack Machine could recover it. Then in early 2003, Elektrosatan prodded the lazy, Hostess product swilling, bumbling fool "paul" (yes, still me... I have "self-esteem" problems) into creating the All New And Improved Voltage Noir Web Site. And the rest, as they say, is not even interesting enough for me to continue writing. For all you code snobs, geeks, and net slaves out there who care, this site is (mostly?) valid strict XHTML (because I like it that way). (Yea, it uses tables. So shoot me. I built this site in 2003.) It is served off of one of Voltage Noir's legion of OpenBSD boxes (because I like it that way). Then again, Here are some upitty standards compliance and "Powered By" icons I am sure you will enjoy! |
