Voltage Noir Daily Blog

20070614 - missed me? i bet yall have!! i took a short break to refresh mind, spirit, soul, n' stuff. phew. I have to much to tell you guys. let me see... where to begin... lol... well, i finally gave up using capital letters when i write. everyone says i am too old to use im speak, but i disagree. anyhooo...

i recently became interested in politics, primarily because that is what is in right now, sorta. i also care deeply about this mother earth we live on and stuff. everyone: please please please do your part to save the planet!!! recycle, buy hybrid cars, stop smoking, buy compact flour-es-ent (or however you spell it) light bulbs, etc ,etc. if we all do are part, she is totally going to be happy about that.

i look back over the vast contentyness of this blog, and see an old self i sorta know less now. man, i was really into gw and the war. well, i wasn't really wrong, cuz everyone knew there were wmds and stuff, and i would totally do everything the same now cuz that was then and stuff. anyway, i really hate this war and now i don't agree with bush on anything. i totally replaced my support the troops yellow ribbons with other magnetic ribbons like at least 12 months ago. (yellow never looked that good on my lovely silver camry anyway).

phew, not sure if i have a point or anything. stay tuned! i am refreshed and ready to lay down that mix of serious and non serious stuff i know you all enjoy!

20030201 - This BLOG is now inactive as I have come to the surprising conclusion that NO ONE CARES. No one....not even my family. No one cares what I think about issues of the day, or what "yummy" food I ate today, or what muzac I am listening to. I know, it is surprising to you as it is to me! Apparently, this phenomenon does not just apply to the Voltage Noir Daily Blog, but also to almost every blog.

I have a few theories about the complete and total lack of public interest in most blogs: (Of course, you want to hear them, since my opinion is so important!)

  1. 99.999999% of all blogs are the same
  2. The 0.000001% that are not the same are really news or information sites, and not the usual "blah blah me me me, here is what I think, blah, feely feel feel" blog
  3. For some yet to be discovered reason, most people would rather live their own life than spend all their time reading about someone else's. (Unless they are a chronic ET watcher, in which case they would only care about blogs written by "famous" people.)
  4. After exposure to they same small set of "ideas" and "ways of looking at things", every blog and personal disclosure site blurs into a huge mass of regurgitated regurgitation and rehashed hash.
  5. If your own family and friends don't care about what book you are reading (usually for the sake of impressing others), or what your favorite candy is, why would anyone else?
  6. Blogs are based on two widely held and totally false principles:
    1. You are very special
    2. Others are impressed by your attempts to impress them
Problem is, you are not special. No one is THAT special, though masses of imbiciles seem to think a certain subset of humanity is. And, the very act of trying to impress others does not impress anyone worth impressing. DOING impressive things is impressive. TALKING about things you think are impressive are not.
  7. A large number of blogs are "cynical" diatribe filled blather JUST LIKE WHAT YOU ARE READING NOW.

So there! Blogs are the logical evolution of the "me-me" "culture" that western civilization has been overrun with. We live in a world were everyone is talking and no one is listening. What do you expect from a mass of people who are fed 24 hour government sourced propaganda and "commentary" (read: speculation) under the guise of news? What do expect from people who think self-respect is irrelevant and self-love is everything?

Hey! I should cheer up! I don't know what came over me... all this negativity. Oh! I forgot to take my Zoloft(tm)! Don't worry everyone, I was just jokin about stopping the blog!

20030131 - Still no visitors? What is up with that? Today I ate pancakes, and they were yummy! Mmmmm.... I could go on and on all day about pancakes! I like mine with maple syrup! I think pancakes are the best food ever! Yay pancakes!

Today's consumption list: Pepsi Blue(tm), Tombstone Sausage Pizza, 1 rerun of Friends, and Dateline NBC.

20030130 - Boy, do I hate f-in telemarketers! Today I was in the middle of watching like one of my favorite episodes of Law and Order: Criminal Intent (or as I like to call it: Law and Order: Genius Detective, because MAN, is that guy SHARP!) So, it is just to the part where Genius Detective is ripping this loser suspect apart with his 3l33t mind h4x0r abilities, and the phone rings. Well, I wouldn't have got it, but I was expecting a call from Chuck, so I picked it up. "Hello! I am from the Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and" ker-chunk!!! I hung up on that mother f-er, and ran back to the tube, only to find that the loser suspect had already confessed! I was so pissed off that I had to turn off the TV and cool out with my new NOW 8 CD.

Today's consumption list: Ho-ho's, Pepsi Blue(tm), the latest issue of People (how bout that J-Lo!), The NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw (informy!), and 2 reruns of Frasier (yummy!).

20030129 - Yo yo yo, everyone! A lot of you have been asking me to start a blog, and all, so here you go! I will try to post something each day for you. (I will even put up one of those RSS feed things when I figure out how.) I'll talk about life, and stuff, and my views on things, you know, keeping it real and everything. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Today I was driving downtown when I saw a bunch of people with "Say No To War With Iraq" signs. Damn communists! I can't believe how unpatriotic people are here!!! I mean, Saddam is like going to nuke us, and these people are all sitting around defending him! I guess people haven't learned much about patriotism since 9/11, cause if they had, they would support our President and support our troops dying for their President, and freedom, and stuff! Sorry to get all philosophical on you all, but as you all know, I am a thinking sort of person.

On a lighter note (phew!), I will be keeping an online record of some of the stuff I dig that I consume each day! Hopefully it will help you all get a better idea of what I am all about, and maybe I will expose you to something you haven't tried or heard about!

Today's consumption list: 1 New McDonald's Chicken Flatbread Sandwich (yummy!), lots of Pepsi Blue(tm) "its in the mix", Punch Drunk Love starring Adam Sandler (yea, again, it is just soooo f-in beutiful!), NOW 8 (finally! Now THAT is what I call music!)
